iphone unlocking question ?

    hi,well my sister got an iphone 3gs 16g brand new on contract which was crazy i thought but hey anyway she lost the fone after been on the beer went an told the shop and she got a new one cause she had it insured now she had found the old one down the back of the chair stupid xxxx but it wont work its locked ,i was thinking how could i get this unlocked or is it just useless,any help so appriciated as would love an iphone haha?

    your phone is locked by its IMEI number on all the carriers so its not possible, you can just use it as a glorified ipod touch

    It doesn't work like that as the phone is blocked by IMEI number and not simply locked to a particular phone carrier.

    Its also illegal in most countries to change the IMEI number thats built into the phone.

    There was an IMEI changer called ZiPhone that could change this but it doesnt work on the new iPhone OS so thats pretty much a useless piece of software now

    well you can use the phone as a glorified ipod touch like i said in a post above, you just can't use the phone functions and features thats all
