I was wondering, can you use the Ipod Video as an external hardrive (eg. using it to transfer data from one pc to another)? and if so will it damage the Ipod in anyway?

Yes you can. No it won't damage the iPod. You need to put it into disk mode to be able to access the 'external HDD' functionality. To put it into disk mode, reset it by holding the 'menu' & cantre buttons together for 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears. Then hold the centre & 'play/pause' buttons together to slip it into disk mode.
