I have some music files that say they are mp3 files, but they wont play in my mp3 players. Musicmatch won't play them, Nero won't play them nor will they let me encode. Nero says it could play the file if I had a dedicated plugin...what the hell is that? WMP WILL play the supposed mp3 file after it has given me this warning "The file you are attempting to play has an extension that does not match the file format, playing the file may result in unexpected behaviour". Is their any way i can fix this? Confused........
Where did you get these files from. Are they downloaded from the internet or are they ones you ripped from CD's?
you probably downloaded a corrupted file, or more likely a file thats not an mp3. try opening it with encspot and see what it says about it
