ipod Formats

    So my ipod is being used with a Mac, and if I ever connect it to a Windows based PC, it says that I have to reformat the ipod, so that it can play music files from the Windows PC. What my question is, is there a hack or something that will let you connect your ipod to both PC and Mac, so that you don't have to always reformat the ipod.
