Hello, I have an iPod mini here that has had its battery replaced. And now after working for a week has died. It is not the battery because even while charging nothing shows on screen. The hard drive and lcd is securly plugged in. Any suggestions?

Put it on the charger for 6+hours then connect it to your computer. If it dosent turn on when you connect it to your computer reset it (menu and center for 2 seconds) while it is pluged into the computer

okay... i couldn't find the exact site, but i've been doing some googling...

    try the following methods:

    1. the 5 R list -- 1) reset (menu + centre)... 2) retry (with a different USB or firewire)... 3) restart (your comp. and ensure you have all of the newest software installed)... 4) reinstall (itunes)... 5) restore (need to plug into comp. ¦¬()

    2. forcing it into disc mode -- hold menu + centre and then as soon as the screen changes, hold on play + centre (NOTE** your ipod must be connected to the comp.)

    3. this may seem a bit crazy but... drop it on the floor (port side down)

    4. cry 'coz you need to get it serviced... or buy a new iPod.

thats all for now... tell me if anything worked

erm... yeah... why not? the sad face just means that there is a hardware error, so it could be the drive, but it could also be the cable for the battery is not plugged in correctly
