Please make sure you have installed the latest version of iTunes. Then try again.

okay, when i plug my usb cable into my PC.
its showing on my computer that my ipod isn't connected,
when i've got my ipod hooked into the computer.
and yes, my ipod is on.
but its not showing up that its hooked up.
    so.
    therefore,
on itunes on the left hand side,
    ipod isn't popping up.
so i can drag&drop my songs onto my ipod.
ive had my ipod since christmas,
and haven't got one thing on it yet.

    help?

well try putting the ipod on disk mode by holding the menu and center button until the ipod powers off then immediately release the menu and hold the play and center button until you see a check mark on your ipod screen, you may need to reboot your computer to reset itunes if you are using a pc. once your pc has rebooted open itunes connect the ipod and follow the on screen instructions, you may need to install any firmware updates available, this will make your ipod work better. try it and let me know, also what ipod you got.
