I bought a 30g video ipod recently and now when i plug it to the PC, computer reboots itself everytime windows starts and it finds new USB hardware. Does anyone have any idea what might be the problem?
the only thing i can think of is-> is ur ipod being recongized by itunes? cause when i restore my nano i have to reregister and everything and my computer reboots also
well, only once i have manage to keep the PC not to reboot itself but i dont have any idea what did i do to make it work. When this happened iTunes recognized my ipod normally
Are you using a USB port on the front of your computer? There's a tendency for computers to reboot if using a poorly wired USB port, which generally occurs with ones on the front of the computer. And do you have the iPod software installed on your computer? It should be recognized as an iPod and not new hardware. You need to install the software that came on the CD before connecting your iPod to your computer. If you've lost the CD you can go here: Apple updater Software - http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/ iTunes - http://www.apple.com/itunes/ If you already have iTunes there's no need to download it again. Post back if you're still having problems.
I tried to reinstall iPod software and i tried using every single USB port but still it keeps rebooting.
