I have been considering buying a video ipod. After searching the guides for converting video I did not find some I was looking for. I need to know how many mb's or gb's a video is. How much space is a 2hr movie going to take? Also how much time to convert a 2 hour movie and a 30 minute episode etc.? Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the iPod forums.

Hmm~ your question is a little vague. I cannot give you very accurate answers based on those questions, as there are so many factors which affect the size of a video. I will do as best I can to try and give you an idea..

You are looking at anything between 500mb - 2gb.

A movie can take a long while depending on how large it is - over an hour with some converters. One hour is about the average amount of time it takes me to convert a movie.

A thirty minute episode takes me around 15 minutes to transcode into mp4.

No problem. If you need any help with converting videos (assuming you purchase an iPod Video), then have a look at the guides stickied at the top of this forum ;-)
