If an item is under warranty then the company can repair it or if not send you a new one. Have you checked the instuction manual for your iPod.

Hey Quikshot did you crack the screen or did it actually come like that and they probably won't believe that it came broken. Worth a try!

well it was in my bookbag (which was picked up, put in the car, picked up, laid on my bed) and it cracked. I told them it came like thatand i deleted all my songs and stuff and the warranty says accidental damage not fixed but im giving it a try

They won't do anything about a cracked screen I believe.

Indeed, they probably won't fix your screen (for free)
I just sent my ipod mini in after calling (it just died on me, gave me the "unhappy" screen) , and the first thing the guy asked was if my screen was the problem (cracked dscratched up, etc.) because that wasn't covered by their warranty.

Apple can do it, but it's going to cost you money.

I sent the iPod away this morning and I also called Apple. Going along with my story, I insisted it was like that when I opened it. The guy said that he should think they should cover it since it was ordered directly from them, and shipping was their responsibility. So I asked him, 'Pretty much you're saying that if I get some nice guy that reads my story, I'll get it fixed, and if some jackass opens it, it won't get fixed, Right?' And he was silent. So I asked him what it depended on to get fixed and he really wasn't sure. So we will see.

Quickshot do u think apple will let me exchange my iPod Video for the white 2gb Nano. my Video's open and doesn't hold its charge that well. I need a way to exchange my Video for the Nano. It doesn;t matter if they take the $50 balance fee for restocking.

I don't know...I would say call Apple and ask (if you haven't used your free 90-day call) or just go online and look for stuff. You could always sell the video on eBay and then buy a new nano....

There's no point in trying to sell it as is - who's going to want an iPod with a duff battery?

apple WILL replace a battery. Go online and file a service request. They'll send you the box to ship the iPod to them in, and shipping is paid for through DHL. They will replace a faulty battery if within the 1 year warranty.

i do want the nano but really dont care about it that much and besides my battery is fault because it only lasts for like 3 hours. SO if i really wanted the Nano I would first have to get my battery fixed, which i am because its faulty, than when I get the new ipod with a seal i could sell it on ebay and with that money buy a nano. I'm probably not though.
