Hey, i desperately need cgi:irc on windows. I know its not made to work on windows, but with the use of such programs as Apache and cygwin it can work. The problem is I have absolutely no idea how to work these programs. If anyone could give me some step by step instructions on getting cgi:irc to work i would be VERY grateful.

None of those pages help. They dont go through any of the steps of running it on the programs that allow it to run on windows. And the last page only tells you how to use it once its running. What i need is a in depth step by step from the programs i need (i think i need apache and cygwin), how to use those to set up cgi:irc. Im completely clueless with those programs because they just look like a command prompt to me and i have no idea how to run cgi:irc in them. I have looked for a tutorial all over the internet with no luck, which is why im asking in here.

The reason you didn't find any info on it is because this requires knowledge of Perl and CGI, and a good idea of how one goes about compiling software.
Since you obviously don't posses any of those skills *no pun intended*, i'd suggest you try something more user friendly.
Or of course, you could get yourself a Unix setup and work with that, OR you could learn Perl and CGI and figure it out from there.

Also, you might want to read THIS as a lot of networks hate CGI:IRC

Well my problem is, I need to run an IRC. I have tried mIRC and Chatzilla, but the problem is i always get connection timed out. I can ping the server through command prompt, but i cannot connect to it. And yes i have tried turning my firewall off. It didnt work.

    Some questions arise...
Are you on a school network ?
    Are you using a router?
Are you using a modem with NAT ?

Yes im on a school network, so i know 6667 is prolly blocked, but when i tried to connect on the test site of cgi:irc i connected fine, which is why i was trying to run that. Any other programs that you can think of so i can chat on IRC.

The server i need to chat on is Gamesurge, which has a 6667 port. Is there anyway to get around that port being blocked on a school network or anything?
