i have found a irc site but have no idea how to download anything from it. Was told to use Mirc but dont know how. i am new to this so help make it idiot proof for me. Thanx jock
Do you know the name of the "site"? When the mIRC options come up, click "Add": Description: Something meaningful to you IRC Sever: the name of the site Port: 6667 should be fine Group: Sometime meaningful to you Password: if needed Now click "Connect to IRC Sever".... wait a bit then a channel joiner should pop up, type the name of the channel you would like to join (i.e, #ad_buddies). If the thing doesnt pop up, click "Commands" --> "Join Channel". Now you are in the channel. Once in the channel, getting/finding the file depends on the scripts that are enabled/allowed....
Try using IRCspy.com or packetnews.com.. all you have to do is click on the packetnumber ( the file/movie etc ) you wanna get and MIRC will launch automatically join the rite server and channel. As for dling the movie or whatever, READ the info in the channel! Most channels have a message of the day that tells you the proper syntax for dling .. Varies from server to server.. Most of the time its /msg blahblahsomeuser xdcc send #whatever the packet ( file) number is.. Or you can search the Net for IRC help for dling from IRC. *Note - Made NO reference to piracy at all yet*
