When I select burn on dvdecrypter I get this http://www.freewebs.com/micscience/index.htm saying there isn't enough room on my tdk dvd-5 has anyone encountered a problem with this and would like to offer any advice thanks. PS I read the other Advent Rising threads wasn't much info about this game except it's known to be a buggy game.
Remove the files, Movies \movies\cutsceneplaceholder.bik \movies\defaultinterfacemovie.bik \movies\glyphxlogo.bik \movies\intro_in.bik \movies\intro_loop.bik \movies\pwrmov*.bik \movies\wpnmov*.bik This will allow you to burn the game to a dvd-5. The files above with an asterisk means to remove all the files with that name in it.
Have you all had success backing this game up? I tried to back up my copy on disc and it gives me the "dirty disc" error. I saved the game on my hard drive and it worked once, then when I tried to play last night went back to giving me the "dirty disc" error.
Make sure you burn this game at 1x or it will constantly freeze or give the dreaded DDE. Burning at 1x along with the framerate fix has my back-up running as good as the original (maybe better).
Thanks for the replies, I already burned the game @ 1xspd before I burned it I had to do some deleting so I deleted the file starupdate.xbl not sure if thats the exact way to you spell it. What happened is it loads but then crashes. My questions are what is the framerate fix and dreaded DDE if you could ell me.
You can also delete this file to make the backup work:dashupdate.xbe You don't need to delete the others as well, just this one file and it will fit,no problem.
The framerate fix changes some settings in the config file for Advent Rising to improve the framerate, but decrease the image quality. If you want, send me a PM with your email address and I'll send it to you, it doesn't make it perfect, but in a large firefight, the fps increases by up to 5-10 fps. And BTW, the dreaded DDE is the Dirty Disc Error (DDE).
well thanks for the reply, I have so many minor hacks to learn not sure if I'll follow threw, right now my main priority is extracting and converting the audio playlist from the ps2 dvd which is harder than it seems. After I complete that I will holla back!
