hi , i just read about this little tool , is this a good program and will it hurt the quality of the video any . i have some dvd 's that was made on a stand alone dvd recorder and i am having problems backing them up . i just wanted to keep the quality the same . any help appericated . also does anyone know how to use this tool . thanks a million for any help .
FixVts is a good program. Here is a guide http://webpages.charter.net/bacitup/TheGuides/Back up DVD w fab, vixvts, shrink, imageburn.pdf you wont need that whole guide, but there is a section in there about using FixVTS that will interest you . Now with all that beeing said what kind of problems are you haveing exactly. This really doesn't sound like something FixVTS is going to fix. Is this programs recorded from your TV onto the standalone DVD recorder? If so those can be a little tricky, but it is doable. First thing you have to do to have any hope of backing these up is to Finalize the disk on your stand alone. Then you have to find a proggie for your PC that will read these I have found Nero Vision Express to work very well for this.
thanks for replying , i bought these dvd's from a private collector who transferred his footage from his vhs tapes to dvd+r . i bought 2 sets he made , i was trying to back them up but not having any sucess , i keep getting a invalid dvd structure and i was hoping that if i could rip it to my hard drive that i could run it thru teh fixvts program and maybe it would fix it , i think the menu is the problem tho not for sure . i was going to try anydvd as i hear it is good .
this collector did he finalise the discs after he burnt them to dvd+r for you.Because if he didnt , they would play alright in his machine but nothing else.I have a dvd recorder that can accomadate vhs to dvd
