Is HD-DVD region free on Xbox 360 HD Drive?

    Basicaly I'm thinking of buying some films from the US, The Hitcher and 300 on HD-DVD, I noticed though that DVDboxoffice have just put up a NTSC region 1 notice on all there HD-DVD's.

    So will they work if I buy them?

    Sorry if this has been asked before, I did a search nothing was found of any use to me.

    All HD-DVD players are region free. It part of the offical HD-DVD specs. You can buy an HD-DVD from anywhere in the world.

    But Standard DVDs still require region coding.
