Is it bad for a laptop to walk through a library book detector?

    Hi all. I was wondering if it is bad to walk through a library book detector with a laptop? I remember that it was not a good idea to walk through them with floppies b/c they could get erased somehow. I'm just wondering b/c I don't want stuff on my laptop to magically disappear.

    you should be alright as they use similar at airports with no problems.
