I have an blackarmor exter harddrive that I use to rip dvds to on my laptop while I'm away from the house. Up untell now I've just used the laptop to burn the backups. Being around the house this weekend I just decided to use the desktop to burn the backs from the exterhard drive. I noticed very quickly that after a movie burns and I switch to another ISO blackarmor locksup and the desktop locks up also. All I have to do is unplug and replug the harddrive and everything is straight again untell the end of the next burn. At first I thought it was because I was using IMGburn so I switched to nero, then decrypter, and still the same results. Now if I rip to the exterer harddrive and use shrink and decrypter to burn an ISO the drive doesnt lockup between burns. I have the same results with the laptop.
I just resolved this problem. I was using the USB cable from my blackberry and from some reason its not allowing enough power to the drive. It was an accident I found this out. Early this morning I got an error message from the drive that it was'nt getting enough power. After checking out by USB port I switched to the cable that came w/ the drive. I have no problems.
