dont know what kinda drive your using but mines not region locked.my dvd player was region locked but i went to a website got instructions to unlock it and thats multi region now.

personally dont think it would be illegal.dont think anyone would even know you used the program unless you went bragging around it all over the internet.

Ok, has anyone here used any of these ?
    css free + kill region + dvd43
    ??
Also they say that you must be careful otherwise you can stuff up the drive or the operating system ,is this true ?

Apparently you must choose the correct software for your specific drive ,they say.
My drive is a MATSHITA UJ-840D

If you own the dvd, it is not illegal to kill or change the region code. Many programs will automatically strip off the region code when backing them up now.

to answer the original question.. NO.. it's not illegal to region free hardware you own. Region codes are a pure marketing tool (and a dirty ripoff scam to boot) and not anti piracy techniques.
