is it possible to increase mp3 sound quality?

    hello? i downloaded some mp3's and the sound quality isnt the greatest. is there some kind of program to increase the sound quality? thanks for the help.

    It depends on what you mean by increasing the sound quality. There are audio editors that will take out background noise & stuff like that. Nero Wave Editor & Audacity are 2 of them. If you mean to increase the kb/s to increase the quality, no, compressing files takes information out of the file & that information can never be brought back.

    as dave mentioned, the short answer is no. try searching again for a higher bitrate of the song/album you downloaded. for decent quality you want at least 192kpbs, VBR preferred.
