Hey, ok first off I think you have something mixed up.

LimeWire is NOT illegal, and the only difference between Pro and Regular is Pro gets more results and (supposedly) downloads files faster.

In your question about it being illegal here is the "illegal" part:

When someone creates music (ex: Papa Roach's song "Last Resort") they Copyright it so that it is ILLEGAL to "copy", "duplicate", "burn", "download" etc. unless you own it (i.e. buy the CD at the store, or off a paid service such as iTunes.)

Just because you paid for Limewire PRO, does not give you a license to download music legally.

So, to answer your question, it is ILLEGAL to download music, movies, etc. but its not illegal to own a program that would allow you to do so such as Ares or Limewire.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk but, thats like saying its illegal to own a gun. Basically you can own a gun but, you can't shoot a person. Same thing here, you can own Limewire (or other download utility) but legally you can not download MP3's for free.

    Peace,
