I'm a noob and proud of it - lol; here is my question: I bought a modded xbox and want to put a larger hard drive in it. I have viewed forums on how to do this if you have a hardware or software modded xbox. Is there a way to tell if the unit is softmodded or if it has a modded chip in it? Any help would be appreciated.
It has both evox and unleashx installed on it and either can be selected to be the dashboard. Does that tell me if it is a software mod vs. a chip mod?
it is modded umm look at the bottom of the xbox does it look like it been opened....and if it has a chip when u turn on ur xbox and it has the big X and under it there should be the name of the chip and if its softmodded then it just says microsoft
Yeah, I'd say it's softmodded. When it boots, it says microsoft under the big X, and I don't see any special chip installed inside. A lot of the forums say to backup your eeprom.bin file under the xbox c:\linux_backup\ folder, but I only have a c:\backup folder. Does that mean there is another way of softmodding besides using linux? or is the folder name not important.
