Is the auto-focus on all DV camcorders the same?

    I own a JVC GR-DVL365EK and would like to upgrade. The main problem I have found with this camcorder is the problem i have with focusing. All too often when i'm shooting sports scenes it will take up to 6 or 7 seconds to autofocus on the subject in frame. My main question is - is this the same on all mid-range camcorders? or is there a make that is known to cope with this? Cheers

    I would try to find one with manual focus. All you have to do with a manual focus is zoom all the way in and focus it. Everything from that point back will be in focus.
