If backing up a scratched disk that doesn't rip 100% accurately, is there a preferred encoder amongst the free ones available for DVDRBPro that works best?

i.e. I just got a shaky rip from a scratched disk. I encoded w/ HC best setting. ImgBrn Verify indicated an error and backup locked up at one point. Would using a different encoder possibly create a better result?

I'm assuming when you say "doesn't rip 100% accurately" that there's CRC errors ie corruption on the disk, in which case different encoders won't help..

Sometimes a video store can buf out the scratches for a couple of bucks, but no guarantees.
