Is there a diffference in what they play? My friend has the 642/17 and he can play more AVIs than I can.
I have /17 & /37. 17 is older manufacture date and in my case makes more problem than 37. 17 Freezes up what 37 playes with no problem, 17 is very picky about media, likes only Maxell DVD-R, my Intenso -R and Philips +R keeps freezing. I did update with newest firmaware. From what I read it can by same model, yet one would play what other would not, it's stil sort of black magic. Good luck.
