    Hi :O)

I have these mp4 movies which I'd like to convert to divx/xvid so my pioneer divx player can read.
Is there a way to convert them without loosing quality ? i thought about converting them to something like uncompressed avi and then to divx/xvid, But on 2nd thought it still another compression based on already compressed file....

    Thanks

mp4 is usually about the same rate as divx/xvid (if not that already .avi/.asf/.mp4 is just a container for various file types)
You need to open one of the files in gspot and see what you have first before making any decisions.

    Thank you for the reply.
I do know what codec it was coded with. Just wanted to convert it without losing too much quality.
The thing is that only 1 program was able to convert these files to xvid without crashing (Any video converter). Both dr. divx and winavi 8/9 carshed/stopped during one of the converstion.....
The problem with the any video program that the file size is a bit big, And even if you set it to lower bitrate (like 1024 instead of 1500) it still give same size output....
