Is there a way to softmod an unmodded xbox via a cat-5 cross-over cable?

    Hi, I bought a cat-5 crossover cable today, as i've been hearing so much stuff about connecting to xbox live. I have everything i need to softmod my xbox - except the £20 AR max usb 2 mc dongle. Can I simply FTP the Splinter cell PAL SID 4.0 file to my hd?

    you cant because you cannot ftp to the xbox without it being modded first go out and buy the AR it will save you a lot of money in the long run....and go download SID 4.5 if you want to go on live with a modded xbox because 4.0 has a lot of problems....second you need to have an xbox live account allready created on your xbox before you softmod because after you softmod you cannot create a new account...pm me for those SID 4.5 Pal Saves...
