Hi Ive jus obtained season 2 of lost, they are all avi format! i was wondering if there is a program that allows me to put episodes 1 to 5 on on dvd etc. ave jus bought ulead dvd factory 4! any help appreciated!
Hey with a menu but is all cool i discovered that nero vision express 2 allowas you to import more than on file, make a menu that you can customise and also converts avi;s into mpeg2 so that i can be read on a any dvd player Highly recommened Excellent quality and sound when converted! only draw back is the 3 hours 30mmins it takes but its worth it
I put 5 eps of Curb Your Enthusiam (30 mins each) on a DVD using Nero and the video quality was pretty mediocre (i.e. pixelated) even though the source files looked nice. It had prompted me to reduce the quality to make it fit, and I had accepted. How did you fit 5 1-hr Lost episodes onto one disc with great vid quality? I'm guessing each episode originally runs about 350mb, and this amount of compression really takes a toll on the quality, at least when I do it. Is there some trick to fitting more on one dvdr without screwing the quality?
To Stew84: 2 episodes of 1 hour that is, totaling 2 hours for one DVD. Tankpower has 5 1/2 hour episodes which of course is 2 1/2 hours. Tankpower will not have a problem getting these episodes on one DVD, however, the words "great quality" will not be of use. You will indeed have good to descent quality, but it won't be as crisp and clear as the normal programming. You'll have to shrink or "compress" your compilation because you'll be over 2 hours. Depending on the material which make up your episodes will determine the compression ratio. I would suggest importing into a video editing program and remove the adverts and commercials. This should get you down to somewhere where we could start talking about great quality again, dismissing the need to compress the overall DVD. Hope this helps.
You can Fit up to 6+ Hours of Good Quality video on a DVD-R...By Good Quality I mean about as Good as the Best quality VCD you have ever seen Or about 4.5 hours of SVCD quality video on a DVD..... Everybody allways seems to Make there DVD"s useing the 720x480 resolution which is Good if you Only want to Fit a couple Hours of Video on a DVD but if you have say 12 Half Hour episodes of your Favorite Sit-Com and you want them all on the Same DVD then your Are out of Luck if you use the 720x480 resolution..... You can Make DVD"s useing 4 Different Resolutions.... 720x480 NTSC / 720x576 PAL--Full D1--2.5 Hours per DVD at "3875kbs".. 704x480 NTSC/704x576 PAL-Broadcast D1-2.5 hours per DVD at "3875kbs". 352x480 NTSC/352x576 PAL-Half D1--4.5 hours Per DVD at "2050kbs".. 352x240 NTSC / 352x288 PAL--SIF/CIF--6 Hours Per DVD at "1500kbs".. The Lower resolution Standards are Especially good if your Source Files are Low resolution because resizeing Low res AVI files to High Res Mpeg-2/DVD Files just Ruins what Little quality there is....
