Well a few days ago I started over my music collection as all of my mp3's were in CBR 128kbps and I was reading a few messages on the bards and I decided that I would start all over but I something has been bugging me. I have been encoding a few mp3's at VBR with a minimum bitrate of 32kbps and a maximum bitrate of 320kbps, The quality is at highest (0). I wanted to know if I was encoding at a high enough quality (I'm using dbpoweramp music converter with the Lame 3.93 Codec with the VBR settings I Described)
Don't try to re-invent the wheel. Here are the tuned LAME settings for version 3.92 (or 3.90.2): http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1912 EAC is the best ripper and if you go through this process, you will automatically end up with great sounding MP3s: http://cd-rw.org/articles/archive/mydeneaclame.cfm
