I just purchased a Toshiba Qosmio G55-Q804. I didn't buy it just for gaming, but will like to play better games than what my PS2 can do. How advanced of games will I be able to play? Below are the specs. It's easiest to use link. That laptop would not be good for gaming at all. This is beacuse of the video card the 9200M GS, this is a very basic card, and has trouble running most new games, even at low resolutions. (I know this for a fact, because my friend has a laptop with one of these.) You should aim for something with at least a 8600M GT or a 9500M GS, as these a mid-range cards. Best performance would be with cards like 9700M GT, and 9800M GT and above, however most laptops with these cards are expensive
That will be a very poor laptop for gaming. Ray explained it pretty well, the graphics cards in the vast majority of laptops, while they may advertise good gaming performance, are usually terrible.

Very nice screen, graphics card is the bare minimum for gaming. It will work, but it won't play top titles like Crysis properly at all.
Granted, the screen is very good, but the DDR3 version of the 8600M GT has trouble playing crysis on high at 1280x800 let alone at 1920x1200. Also, make sure it has DDR3 not DDR2 as that will be better. Another point is that the laptop has a 2.00GHz T7300 processor The T Series is older technology, and it would be better for you to look for a P series processor, as they use less energy, meaning longer battery life, and run cooler, which is also an advantage. The also perform better than the older T series. I suggest you check out the ASUS-G50 beacuse even though it has an older T series processor, it is a high-end laptop processor, and the graphics are also decent Why not see if it fits your budget?? Hope this helps
