is this possible?

    I have a 24XCD-RW/DVD Combination Drive in a dell demension 4600c. Is it possible to copy my DVDs with this? What type of blank dvds should I use for this? And finally, it came with Cyberlink Software Decoding for DVD Drives, is that all I need? Thanks for this great site and all of you guys that help people like me.

    I believe your Combo drive is capable of reading both cdr and dvdr, but it is only capable of burning to cdr. You need to get an actual dvd burner to burn to dvdr.

    Cyberlink is only for viewing dvds. In order to copy them you can download DVD Shrink to rip/compress the movie and then use Nero or Recordnow to burn the files to dvd. DVD Shrink is free and your Dell should have come with some sort of burning software.
