The 27 inch tv (about 7 years old) in my living room just died. My roommate said it happened suddenly. All it shows is a bright horizontal line. Clser inspection shows that a picture is transmitting but it's pretty much just that horizontal line. Is this worth taking to a repair shop?? Or is the tube kaput??
Had the same thing happen but because the tv dropped, your roommate said it just suddenly happen? BTW was the TV plugged into a surge protector, all electronics worth anything should be plugged in to a surge protector instead of straight into the wall.
Your verticle is not working. It could be something as simple as a fuse, depending on the age of the tv. However, considering the low cost of brand new 27" TV's today, even if it were only $50 to fix, you might still be happier with a new one.
i would say the tube is shot it would cost more to replace it than to buy a new one and actually if you need a basic TV Wal-mart has a number of them at really good prices even the nicer brands, Sony,Samsung etc.
