Ok i am trying to upgrade my HD but i keep getting this meassage when i boot the cp. The screen comes up and i enter 1. Then it goes to a screen and ask me to type "xboxhd" Now after i type that it comes up with this message: INFO INFO INFO INFO INFO INFO INFO This Scriptasumes /dev/hda is the device to be used for creating or rescueing an xbox harddrive No disk drive found on /dev/hda (primarymaster)! Shotdown, connect a drive and reboot root@xbox-HDM:/1 Now i have tried switching the HD from master, slave, master-slave, CS and also on all the connections on the ribbon cable. Does anyone know whats wrong or wat i might be diong worng?
did you make the disc right with your Eeprom,C drive and E drive using xboxHDM.....and make sure the only HD you have hooked up to the computer is the one your trying to format and set the jumper to cable select...
Yup i put ms-c in the linux/c folder and i ftp the xbox and put the eeprom file in the linux/eeprom folder and e/folder from the xbox in the linux e/folder. Then i clicked on Make-Iso-win to create the Iso Linux file. Used Nero to burn a disc image. I have the pin umber on the back of the HD set to master and have it hooked up to the middle connector on the ribbon cable. I have the Cd drive hooked up to the last connector on its ribbon cable. Now some one was telling me that they had to be on the same cabel? Either way it still gave me the same message.
What is cable select and how do you do it? IF it means just taking the jumoer off i have tried that along with all the other jumper settings. I tried both the hd and cd drive on the middle and end connectors and even put both on the same cabke.
Yeah i can get it to oot the cd-r. It will load it and ask to select options 1-4. After selecting #1 it goes to the screen where it asked to type in "xboxhd" Then it checks for the hd and then it gives the error. I took the HD out and tried to load Win2000 back on it and when it tried to start loading the files it said it didn't see a had a drive. I think there is simething worng with the drive and im n ot sure what. The drive is only 6 months old all i did before trying to use it for the xbox is format it.
OK so i fell like the4 diggest bumbass now. So i went out and bought a new 120g Seagate and tried it since it was on sale for only $60, Well that didn;t work either. So i got susousious and rechecked all the cabling. Well somewhere along the line i managed to mix up the cables and had it hooked up worng. I didnt have the cable p;ugged into the right slot. So npw i feel like a total bumbass. With that said i have one question. I got the new HD all done and hooked up to the xbox nd it works great but for some reason it doesnt start with UnleashX dashboard it s back to the normal MS dashboard. Im nopt sure what i did worng or did i judt missa step after i made the HD? So now would it be easier to just reload UnleashX or is there somethingi ahve to do to make it work?
sounds like you dont have the softmod on there anymore....try and re-softmod it see if it lets you....
