It doesn't matter at all, it all depends on what burning program you use, some can burn ISO, some can burn a Video_TS folder, some do both.
My preference (and I emphasize preference) is to create an ISO first. I do that so I can check my chapter marks and menus using VLC before I burn with ImgBurn.
The chapter marks you can check them by playing the VOB files inside the Video_Ts folder, the ISO is not essential.
i prefer iso as its just 1 file and i store them all on a backup drive, i either just burn after or mount and watch but there the same really. just do whatever bites ya biscuit ;-]
I have no preference, i just happen to have always used VOB files, have only done ISO's a couple times, the novelty soon wore off
The only time I rip as an ISO is when I plan to maybe convert the movie to AVI. I use FairUse Wizard, and it only works with ISOs, not with a folder. Other than that, a Video_TS folder. too many applications that can't open ISOs.
i only do the iso thing as its part of the avi to dvd wizard in TFM/CCE, i just set it up and walk away, also i got imgburn set so i just click the iso once and imgburn loads/opens ready to burn... no setting up dvd-video files or folders to burn, imgburn does all this for me, it knows. but its all swings and roundabouts... ;-]
if i ever need the video ts stuff out the iso i use isobuster to extract, but i only do that for taking pictures for answering threads here, not for myself really.
iluvendo's reply intrigues me !!!! What do you mean by "working" the VBO files before converting to ISO for final burning? Please provide details as an inquisitive mind would like to learn.
Easy 1) rip movie to hdd in vob files 2) use what ever proggies I need ( as fixvts, vob blanker ) 3) use dvd shrink on vobs and output to iso 4) burn iso with Imgburn BTW, inquisitive minds usually read the National Enquirer. So do you ? LOL
