This may be the stupidest question on here, but I've been reading threads and checking out guidelines on different ways to burn DVD's and there is one way that always brings up a question in my head: Why do some individuals create an image of the disc first, say with ImgTool and then burn the disk. I recently had a problem backing up Spiderman and tried various tools thinking this would alleviate the problem. I usually use DVD Decrypter->DVD2One->CopyToDVD. Seems to work fine. This time however, I was having audio problems and decided to try out alternative means and then came across ImgTool. Does anybody have any guidance on this procedure? Why some do it?

    Thanks,
    Frank

People do it because it is more reliable than on the fly copying!! Copying from one drive to anothr and especially with DVD to DVD, puts a lot of strain on your computer so a lot of data is lost easily! Wheras image first will capture the entire disk on your hard drive and easily burn it then!!
