i used avi2dvd to make an iso out of something i got from the good boys at humr. first i made an iso out of a divix, burned it with mediacreator 7 basic dvd edition, burned it on a sony 16x dvd-r. the dvd said its ver2.1 and the little code on the edge of the burnable part says "gh000073" and "tb625a207521gk" right next to the hole on the plastic. the disks are pearly white sorta and say "accucore". i would have just dled that prog that ids them but i already used my last one. anyway, it isnt compatable with my 4 year old sony 5 disk dvd player, dvp-nc600, its picky. the disk works on anythign else but that player is the one i have connected to my 52' widescreen so i want it to play on it. plus if i know a dvd will work on it then chances are itll work on anything so when i burn people a dvd they wont come back and call me a douche. anyway i used my computers dvd burner, im not sure what brand or anything, its mad old, from like 2003. its 2x. Tmpgen dvd author said it is a HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GMA-4020B A. i suspected that it was either the burner or easymedia so i then converted a second movie in avi2dvd. this time i burned it with TMPGenc dvd author 1.6 and i used my pacific digital external dvd+r/rw dl burner (tmpgenc dvd author said it was a toshiba cd/dvdw SD-R5372 TU53). still no dice, but works on everything else. iv used all these burners before and they produce disks that are usually compatable with my player. i have spotty compatability issues, depending on wich burner i use, what media, and what prog. but i have never burnt anything that couldnt be played in SOMETHING at my house. anyway, is avi2dvd making isos that arent compatable with my sony dvd player? i didnt make any menues for them, could that be the reason? or do i just need to update all my firmware, get a good burning prog and get some quality verbatum +rs?
If it works elsewhere, I don't think is a burner or software problem. I've had some problems in the past with Sony DVD players. I've solved most of them by using DVD+R and Booktyping to DVD-ROM.
