I got this when I tried to burn a dvd movie. I have read numerous threads with people posting there own log file from nero and I can't pinpoint my problem. Just as others have noted, and it is the same case with me, Nero says 'burn process failed'. So here is the log file... 1XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: File 'Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=4.71 (0002), size=45056 bytes, created 7/17/2002 9:20:56 AM ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Ahead\nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.68, size=160016 bytes, created 7/22/2004 5:33:44 PM Nero version: 6.3.1.20 (Nero Express) Recorder: <Memorex DVD+/-DLRWL1 F16>Version: BWSB - HA 1 TA 0 - 6.3.1.20 Adapter driver: <atapi> HA 1 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : via Inquiry data (1) -> ATAPI, detected: ATAPI Connected to MMC as unknown drive with class-nr : 1 Drive is autodetected - recorder class: Std. Just a few things ..your memory is very low, try closing down any unnecessary progs while burning Your Nero is several versions behind, latest is 6.6.0.18, go to Nero site and upgrade. You are burning at 8X, try and slow down to 4X You also have INCD installed, I would recommend you uninstall it. you are burning too close to edge of disc..reset burner to 4300
Thank you so much for your help! I don't want to sound like a noob but How do I uninstall INCD? It didn't show up on my add/remove programs list. How do I reset burner to 4300? Do I do it through nero or a differnt program? Also, I went to the nero site to download through a different link on this site. I downloaded the latest version and it went to install a 'demo' version, and it said it had to uninstall my current version I bought at the store. Should I just go ahead and agree to the 'demo' terms? Again, thank you so much for your help!
When you go to the Nero site make sure you click on the Nero6 circle and update from there, it will ask for you s/n , type it in and download. When you are upgrading dont include the INCD component.
Okay, I updated Nero, I freed up plenty of space in my ram, I uninstalled incd. I still don't know how to set my burner to 4300. I did make my movie file just under 4.3 gigs through dvdshrink, is that the same thing? In nero I saw the option of slower buring, but the next slowest was 2.5x...kinda slow. Anyway, I burnt a dvd-video disc and nero said the disc was burnt successfully, however I went to play it in my dvd player (PS2 has always worked for me, better than other players i know of) and it said 'disc read error' Any help would be appreciated, thanks again. Oh, I have another question, are these problems (aka. 'illegal disc' and 'burn-at-once failed') recent problems or have they been happening for a while? just interested. Thanks for the help Gwen.
I forgot...i inserted the disc i burnt into my computer and it couldn't even read anything on the disc. I'm confused?!?
I thought of another question I could ask to bump my little thread hoping for answers. Are there any other reliable, quality DVD burning programs out there? Alcohol I suppose? Any suggestions if Nero won't do the trick? Thanks for the help.
Post your last Nero log for comparison. Your original log inducates that Nero doesn't recognize the burner. It should if it was updated. You used DVDshrink to set the burn at 4300, so that's good. In DVDshrink you can opt to burn the disk with DVDDecrypter instead of Nero.I do that most of the time, but it would probably be best to use Nero for now (because the logs are helpfull).
