somthing is wrong with my ipod now, ever since i downloaded itunes 7 (the new blue one) and updated my ipod, its been doiing wierd stuff like when i plug it in the light goes between on and off. in the top left corner of my ipod screen, when i plug it in and also has a new symbol, exactly like the circle thing in the top right corner of firefox browser. i have never seen that before on an ipod. the itunes 7 dosnt seem to know my ipods plugged in and niether does the computer. i tried reinstalling and uninstalling but that didnt work. so i tried installign the old one but it said some files that were created by the newer one couldnt be removed or read by the old one. im running otu of ideas. i also read somewhere online and im sure youve heard, that theres a glitch in itunes 7. what can i do to fix my ipod and itunes?
If its a problem with your iPod I would recommend using the iPod restore utility to reformat your iPods hard-drve/flash the iPods firmware. Then see if your pc/iTunes recognizes the iPod. If still no luck I would go back to the other version of iTunes you were using, if you dont have the install file anymore you may be able to download them from oldversion.com
ok my ipod is fixed but my itunes is not. i tried uninstalling then reinstalling the old software, but it says there is one file that was made by the new one that stops it from reinstallign the old software. i tried downlaoding the old software from oldversion.com but ti said itunes was unavailable. so my ipods done but my itunes is still screwed up.
i unistalled the whole itunes, i restarted my computer then installed itunes 6.0.4. it said "the file "itunes librariy.itl" canot be read becaus eit was created by a newer version of itunes" what does that mean?
Im not sure why that is that you cant install the new version. But I know how you can delete it. Download this piece of software - http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Boot-Manager-Disk/MoveOnBoot.shtml After installing it locate that file called librariy.itl, right click it and select "Delete File(s) On Next Boot" Then restart your computer. This will delete the file before it has a change to be "locked". Install your old version of iTunes and you should be good to go.
