A friend says the films i do him seem jerky, even tho i can,t seem to c it myself.I use apollo to convert avi files to dvd,and also same programe if film come,s on 2 seperate files to join together.Or would it be best to wait till it is on 1 cd and not 2.PLEASE HELP.Daz
the jerkyness could be caused by several problems... It will depend on how your friend is playing them, if its a pc or stand alone player etc. can be caused when your orriginal source is NTSC or PAL and your output is different etc. also frame rate settings (often related to ntsc or pal since they are different) or it could just plainly be he has a lower spec pc or is running lots of programs. are the files you give him from an orriginal source or downloaded etc? what does he play them on?
I'd guess then that the cause is the ammount of lines in the stream(if the jerky is very slight) I noticed in the past on some of my equipment that it jerks very slightly on NTSC streams when playing on pal equipment - do you have any video software that will tell you what the stream is? Tmpgenc probably would analize it... if its a stand alone player it may be worth checking what chipset is in it (probably can find out on the model number). I generally use Auto GK for most simple re-encoding and that has different installation options depending on what type of chipset the player has. cheers nico
