Hey guys, upon heavy reccommendation by many members on this board, I decided to get the Pioneer 107D. What software/hacks do you reccommend I get to start off? Also, what burning software do you think is the best and easiest? Nero 6.0? I purchased a 5 pack of Optorite 4X DVD-R. All of your advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Best combination of software for backups is:

    DVD Shrink
    DVD Decrypter

Guides and downloads available this site.

    Also advisable is Nero.

Also ensure that you do not have Roxio software installed on your machine - it tends to be problematic and conflicts with many programs.

No hacks discussed on these forums

    I will second that.

    DVD Shrink
    DVD Decrypter

Rip with Shrink and burn with Decrypter

Sounds great. Thank you so much for the great advice. Much appreciated! Is there a particular firmware or hack that I should install? If so, should I first install the firmware that came with the drive, or should I install the hack/updated firmware first?
