Hey guys I have an xbox that is modded with a chip and I was looking at upgrading the xbox harddrive and I have a question… I have looked at a few threads and I have learnt: * I first must check which hard drive I am going to buy through: http://xboxdrives.x-pec.com/?p=list * Then I can just install my new harddrive and run slayers evox auto installer, then that will install evox and I will be ‘good’. http://slayer.xbox-scene.com/ (where I can download slayers evox) if you have a chip just put in the hard drive you want to use (any) and use slayers evox auto installer and your good as said by ‘Nu2Mods’ MY TWO QUESTIONS (1) So is this correct? (2) Also where do I download, vox auto installer? As http://slayer.xbox-scene.com/ (where I can download slayers evox) does not have it for download..... (or I am looking for the wrong thing) Do I have to download it through a torrent?
It's been so long since I put in my HDD, and I didn't use Slayers Disc at all. But to get Slayers, you can just go into #xbins, and probably download it from there. You should check at the Compatibility Chart, just to make sure that your HDD will work. That site that you posted is where I went to check to see if my HDD was Compatibile, and it was. So Find a HDD that is compatible, and then get onto #xbins and find the Slayers Auto Installer.
Simply this... Since you have the mod chip already installed, just buy a decent hdd of your choice(3.5 Inch ultra ata). Choice in GB is up to your budget. Swap out the hdd in your xbox, get a auto installer boot disc, Via Torrent, and then put you xbox back together. If you plan to go over the 137 GB, then I suggest you get evtool and have a back up M8 bios. Theres a website that shows you how to use it, simply google evtool guide, and something will show up. Flash the new patched m8 bios and then put in your boot disc, and launch the new patched bios. Format your drive, and then when that's all done, take out the disk and reboot. Your dashboard and all that should be taken care of. You can get the hdd from any retail outlets, i.e. best buy. Oh and make sure that your jumpers are set right on your new hdd. And the answer to your questions are yes to 1 and number 2 look around for torrents your best bet.
