This may sound strange but, today when I was using my laptop I noticed it is inputting several keystrokes I am not touching.

As an example of what it is doing when I type "I" it also types a "U", other keys doing it are the "y" key, which inputs a bracket ("["), the "m" key outputs an apostrophe "," as well.

I will run an anti-spyware scan and see if it finds anything.

    Peace

EDIT: I am thinking this problem is hardware related. I tried to get on my laptop this morning and on the log-in screen, while trying to enter my password, it did the same thing I noted above.

I tried logging into Vista and it did the same thing, which lead me to believe that it is a hardware problem. I am thinking I will email Dell support and see if they can do anything about it.

could be a virus, but like you said, sounds hardware related.
