I have been at it for a few hours now and Knoppix 5.11 still wont detect my wireless card. When I use the network cable it works fine.....really bugging me. Here's what I have been doing. I go to the command line and type... in wlcardconfig it says no wireless card detected,in ifconfig and iwconfig nothing happens at all goes back to desktop. I have messed around with kwlan but nothing is supported Here is my laptop its only 4 weeks old http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...dlc=no&lang=en So can anyone help me. Would I be better off with back track or something.
Faulty link, try again. And you do NOT want to use backtrack2 unless you're experienced in IT security.
Probably better off with slax popcorn and ndiswrapper? Knoippix doesn't detect any of my network hardware, while myah, slax, puppy, feather and dsl all do..
Sorry about that new link below http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/st...sku=886217&fm=null&sm=null&tm=null&tabIndex=1 Ive heard SUSE With YAST is very straight forward would that solve my problem?
I'm currently using openSUSE and I have just recently set up my broadcom 802.11 wlan device all you have to do is install the latest ndiswrapper, put in the cd w/ the drivers (or download them), reboot, and you should be good to go it's pretty easy...it took me forever because I'm new to linux
