hey guys i wanted your opinion on whats a good video editing software before i buy. I wanted to use still photos and short vids that i can make a personal vid for my family. i was using interwin dvd creator2 but its not very effective. thanks guys in advance
i have been using windows movie maker lol but yeah what is the best video editing software out there which the professional's use wrestling production teams usally make some great videos what would they use my o/s is windows media center so what would be the best
I also use Camtasia Studio. It's a screen capturing software suite but also allows you to edit and add effects. Very cool.
i think i will check out Camtasia Studio sounds cool and never heard of it before lol does it take good screen shots like if action is fast captures that moment in time last one i had was blurry because the action was fast and well blurry lol
When I say screen capture, I usually refer to video tutorials, for example, where you record your computer screen using photoshop or something. If you want to capture a video playing, then you have to use a different codec from the camtasia studio settings. But for your purposes of editing, you don't have to worry about that. Camtasia lets you import an avi, add transitions, music, fade music etc. I'll give you an example of what I've done using camtasia: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/358248/did_the_offspring_rip_off_the_beatles/ You can do more with as well. good luck.
If you can obtain Adobe Premiere....it's the GodFather of video editing. If not...there are other Adobe products much cheaper that can do some similar things that Premiere does.
Dose Camtasia Studio support batch? I am trying to get Vdub and Medicoder to convert and compress soem vids down about 20ish MB from Xvid to H.246 medicoder makes them shuddery and Vdub cant handle the sound right so its off by a sec or so. its a shame windose movie maker dosent do batch it can actually compress rather well. it seems Klite codec mega pack is screwing with my encode stuff or Medicoder is not prefect yet,half the codecs dont work when go to encode ;_;
Camtasia does support some batch work, see here for more info. I'm not sure if that's what you are looking for.
it depends on your budget, if you want to do this as a profession someday, and how much you're willing to learn now. I advise to use Adobe products because they're the standard for many people. Most pros eventually move up to Sony Vegas/AVID products. Ulead VideoStudio 10 works very well & has a timeline that's a standard in the industry. MediaStudio Pro 8 (also by Ulead) is a bit higher up than VS10 & lets you work natively with DV format. MSP8 website It all comes down to how much time you have & if you're going into the profession. If you're doing this for a living, start using the proper tools & sooner rather than later. Microsoft Movie Maker is the poor man's video tool. Besides, we've seen enough of DRM with Vista to know that WMM will probably be targeted at one point for its own draconian security measures. Good luck with your videos.
