Kodak, Mitsui or Taiyo-Yuden media

I own an old burner, Teac CD-R56S (very satisfied with it). Until now, i've used mostly Kodak media with it and they were perfect.

I have a chance now to buy Mitsui or Taiyo-Yuden at a cheap price. which one of those brands is better? and which one is
considered more suitable for my burner (Teac CD-R56S)?

 

I think there is very little difference: Both of them are excellent.

 

Yes, they are both the best you can get. The only difference between the 2 is the type of dye used. Taiyo Yuden uses cyanine dye. Mitsui uses phthalocyanine dye like Kodak.

Which brand do you think will fit my Teac CD-R56S more? (with the kodak media i used, i think i had about 1-2 coasters in 500 burns)

I'm asking this because the kodak media seemed to fit this drive so good and im looking for a cd-r brand that will continue so (also in cdmediaworld.com, under info on kodak media it lists this teac drive).

 

Mitsui discs are just like Kodak's. They make silver and gold discs.

someone told me to stay away from Mitsui golden dye, and the the Mitsui silver is about the same quality as TY, and that Mitsui gold is best of those 2 kinds.. any ideas?

 

Mitsui discs use the same dye as Kodak discs. The silver and gold refer to the reflective layer - not the dye. Silver is slightly more reflective than gold - so use silver discs if you want the most compatibility with the greatest number of players. Gold is more stable over long-term storage and can withstand extreme conditions better than silver - but some older players may not be able to read gold as well as silver because it is less reflective. Mitsui uses the same dye in both their silver and gold discs - it's just the reflective layer that's different. Taiyo Yuden discs are also excellent - just that they use a different dye type. So if you want a disc that most resembles Kodak, that would be Mitsui.

are these cd-r's ok to buy from there? quality wise i mean (maybe its cheap cd-r's pretending to be mitsui/ty.. its my first time buying there)

And they look real to me. Send them back if you dont get what they say you'd get

... hmmm... Me thinks they wont uphold that guarantee
