I currently have a Linux server set up with a PCI DVB-C card and sasc-ng running and was wondering could I configure it to connect to the Kryptviews servers? Or is it just worth me biting the bullet and buying a box for ease? Thanks.

Any reason? Subscription? Box ID? Not a standard cardsharing server/encryption?

it would be the same as a private server as its only made to work on kryptview boxes as no other box can connect to it
