I downloaded a couple of movies from the net.
    The one is title KVCD.
The other one also is in 4 folders named EXT,SEGMENT,MPEGAV,VCD
In t he MPEGAV folder there is a 800Mb almost .dat file which is obviously the movie itself.
How do I open it? Is it VCD as I think so? What program would u recommend me to use to watch it and add subtitles since Media Players and even VLC that plays everything do not play it?

    thanks

    The Glossary on KVCD: http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary/terms/kvcd.cfm

That .dat file is simply an MPEG file and you can simply change the extension to play it on your machine. If it's really a KVCD like the first disc, it could be either MPEG-1 or MPEG-2. If it's a true VCD, then it's MPEG-1 in 320x240 (NTSC) or 320x288 (PAL). The easiest thing to do is play it (you really don't have to rename it for most players but it's convenient) and use the Properties function from either Media Player Classic or even Windows Media Player. Here's a tutorial on how to add subtitles, though I've never done it myself.
