Do you mean the audio isn't synced with the video?

This might help, it is what caused audio problems for my captures. Sound would not be synced and sometimes the audio would stutter.

In my sound device settings I had the record source 'line-in' set at too high a db. I moved it close to zero, and that solved my problem.

For yours it depends if your recording is line in or aux or whatever, try lowering the record source db and see if that helps.

do you think thas the same probles that you had ??

You should NOT have gotten a USB device because they have Many problems of which the least of them is Sync Problems..If you still Can return it and get a PCI Capture card....

It did cause a stutter, but also sound not being synced on mine. So it is worth a try. It isn't hard to adjust that setting, then run a short recording to test it. You can always adjust it back it it didn't help.

And like minion said, usb tv cards are not the best. My first tv card was a usb one. The sound was bad (but synced)and the video was a few frames slower.

In any case, do try that adjustment. It may help.

Aside from trying that adjustment, if that doesn't work, then try another recording profile. I've used some that didn't work well.

Please post back any results. If no go then I may have other ideas, or perhaps another will.

One thing offhand, what system specs do you have (cpu and ram) , and what recording settings are you trying?

Also, if doing other things while recording, that will interfere. Especially with a usb tuner.

Good luck, hope you get it worked out. :)

Well Not opening your PC is a Bad Idea Because you should Open it ever 2 Months to clean out the Dust Bunnies..My Buddies House Caught on Fire Last year because he wouldn"t open his PC to clean it out..The Dust Bunning can Stop your fan from working and stop Air Flow and are a Very Big Fire Hazard..Get a PCI Card and take your PC to were you Bought it and get them to Install it if you have to..And Yes USB Devices are Notoriusly Bad Devices unless you go and Spend $500 on a Good One...The USB Devices that use Hardware Mpeg compression usually have Low Quality Compression Chips in them Because the Good Ones are Very Expensive and the Ones that do not use Hardware Compression have to Transfer the Video Data in Raw Format and even USB 2.0 doesn"t have enough Bandwidth to to Transfer the Highest quality Video Data to your PC...

    Hi there
I try the sugestion that you give me but i did´t have any luck :=((
    My equipment is a:
    Sony
    AMD Athlon™ XP 2600+ to 2,13 GHz†
    256MB DDR-SDRAM / DD 80GB††
    Interfaz i.LINK® (IEEE 1394) and 4 USB 2.01 ports
and my OS is Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition

the recording settings that i am used is DVD Format 740 x 480 in this format is when the sync get worst
also i am using Mpeg1 352 X 240 with this format the sync is better but when it past about 30 minutes of capturing the sync get worst and also i dont like this format because i loss quality and the final result that i got will be a VCD and i want to have it in DVD

    Shoot :(

One thing that I see as a possible problem is your ram. 256 isn't enough. More ram 'might' help, but since it's a usb card, it might not. So I hate for you to try that and find it didn't help. If you have a friend who has similar ram, you might borrow it and try that. But then that means opening the pc.

I do believe capturing at 740x480 with a usb tuner is a lost cause. At best, 352x576.

At the Highest Resolution of 720+480 your Device has to transfer the Most Video data and if there isn"t enough Bandwidth to transfer that Data it will Drop audio and Video Samples which is Most Likely what is causeing your Sync Problem....

The USB 2.0 Bandwidth is Set in Stone and can not be Increased ..USB 2.0 has a 480 MegaBit per second Bandwidth which in Most Cases would be plenty enough to Transfer Quite a Bit of Video Data but not all the Bandwidth is Utilized as the Data Flow goes in Both directions so less than Half of the Bandwidth gets used for Data Transfer from your Capture Device to your PC and the Other Half is reserved for transfer from your PC to your USB Device and then there is some Bandwidth used for Overhead and the 480 MegaBits is the Burst Speed Not the Sustained Transfer speed so the Speed is Misleading...So you have to deal with what you have to Give up on the USB Device....Cheers
