I have read numerous instructions on using VobEdit and it is not sinking in, would someone help me on getting LOTR 1 extended edition onto one dvd. I have tried before asking, once i have gone through it and suceeded i will be ok then (i hope) I have got both discs reduced to 2.18GB and am just after the final piece to join these two files together. I get lost on the part about finding the last vob file id and setting the second disc to start after the first vob file. If someone could explain this part and actually tell me where to find the info and what to alter on the second disc vob files it would be really appreciated. regards Mark
Hi. I'm very new to this, but just wanted to let you know that I use a free program called DVD Shrink to compress DVD-9s down to 4.33 GB and then use Nero Burning Rom to burn to a DVD-R. It works very well for me. I hope this will help you. ^_^ - Archy
thanks for the reply, i can sort out a one disc dvd no problem but the said disc is on two discs and i end up with two sets of vob files, i need to know how to join them so they can be recorded onto one dvd.
step1: rip movie to hd step2: join clips w/vob edit step3: create new ifo's w/ifoedit step4: run dvd2one to compress to 4 gigs step5: burn oo7texas@grandecom.net if you have any ques. note: i just finished backing the extended version up on one disc...just the movie and dts audio stream...no menus and i will say the quality wasnt as good as the original but still much better than vhs. could pass to some peeps as "dvd quality" but not to the avid dvd enthusiast.
@ oo7texas can you send me a tutorial on how to use vobedit and ifoedit to join films together. Also can I use this method to have separate films ie they don't run automatically after each over you select which film you want to see. You can contact me at... e_mail_me_ere@yahoo.com Thanks!
