As due to afterdawn rules i cannot reply or add to an existing thread that is over 60 days old in order to try and assist other members i MUST start a new thread.
On the subject above i have created over 400 dvd discs (all with paper labels)I have 3 stand alone dvd players of different vintages and models. I have only recently discovered that in 95+% of the cases that at about the 1/2 way point during play the movie will start to skip/freeze and within 5-20 minutes thereafter it will freeze entirely.Out of frustration (because the disc was quite warm) i removed the label and replayed the disc.Worked without incident all the way through. Now i shall be removing all the labels from the rest of my dvd discs.I do realize it may be possible under certain circumstances that these problems may not occur. However my advise is DO NOT use paper labels on dvd blank discs.

NEVER put a paper label on a dvd disc!! Get them off as soon as possible.
