I'm a bit rusty with labelling but see if this helps. I'm not familiar with the Adobe template you have either but most of these labelling software have commonalities. You ought to be able to use images/patterns that accompany your software or be able to import your own image say a jpeg image of your preference into the template and position it, add text, etc as much as you like. So you ought to be able to customize it and then print it. Ensure that the image you are trying to print on the label it not too big so it falls out of the limits of the label or of a file format that the software can't import or won't recognise. Now for the printing part. The software should have come with a diagnostics/troubleshoot feature which allows you to calibrate it with your printer. failing this here's another way to get around this, without wasting your templates. Take some blant sheets of paper using a compass and a ruler try to reproduce the DVD labels on them and use them as dummy templates. Set your printer to the best economize on ink(ie draft etc) and then try to print a label on your dummy template. You can move them from side to side and not the position on your printer to get the best possible calibration so it ends up centered in the label template. Note exactly how you feed the paper in (ie going horizontally) each time so as to feed it back at the exact spot once it calibrates to your liking. If it's a problem with the vertical calibration I need to give that some more thought. Like I said, it's been awhile.
