I found an inexpensive VGA to Video and S-Video converter(M0del No:GHD1024) at Amazon.com and have been using it for 2 months now.
Its not HD but ok with me. Give Amazon a look.
    Enjoy

I use an HDMI cable to use my laptop on my 52" Plasma. I watch all kinds of movies I have downloaded and saved to my hard drive. As long as your laptop has a HDMI port and your TV has a HDMI port you should be able to do the same thing I did. It's all in HD too ;)
